Ingredients
- 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Flaky sea salt, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
- Beat butter and both sugars in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
- Reduce mixer speed to low and gradually add the flour mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips with a spatula.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Sprinkle each cookie with a pinch of flaky sea salt.
- Bake for 11–13 minutes until edges are golden but centers still look slightly underdone.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
